-SAP is also name of the ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) and also the name of the company.
-SAP was started in 1972,Walldrof,Germany.
-SAP system consists of fully integrated modules which covers all aspects of business management.
What is ERP? Why is it required?
ERP is designed and supported to integrate all functional modules of a business process together such as sales & distribution, finance, accounting, manufacturing, human resource, production planning and warehouse management.
For ex : If a client approaches a sales team to purchase a product, sales team checks with the inventory dept and if the product is out of stock then the sales team asks the production planning to manufacture the product.The production planning checks the inventory for the raw material if it is not available then the production planning buys from the vendors the raw and shop floor control to get it done.Shop floor team sends it to sales which inturn delivers it to the client and also the revenue gained and spent is handled by the Finance dept .Every team approaches Human resource team for any issue.
SAP ERP is a Centralized System.
